4:45 pm - Updates of the major and/or overdue variety.
So, it's been forever and a half since I updated this.  But I just got a comment from my friend Scott that says I should.  So here goes.

See the pretty car in the post before this?  Yeah, that got totalled.  Not my fault though this time!  I got rear ended in a nasty blizzard.  There was a 40-some car pileup on a different highway in the cities the same day.  I have a new car, a cute little grey Nissan Sentra.  I'm not going to post a picture since tht seemed to mean an early death sentence for the last Anne-mobile.

I've decided to take some time off from school while I decide what I really want to focus on.  I'm working at Games By James right now, and having a wonderful time.  I have to play piles and piles of boardgames and then try to find the right boardgames for other people who like games.  By the way, Citadels by Fantasy Flight is an amazing game.  I personally enjoy it a ton more than Settlers of Catan.  I also have a really cool manager, who is also a festie, and an interesting character, and I get along well with my coworkers.  I also am next in line in the company for a store manager.  So we'll see when/if that happens.

I went to Italy last summer for a week to see Mark after he finished his archaeological dig, and we toured around the country.  It was really really fun.  I got to go to Pompeii!!!!!!!!!!  Unfortunately the relationship started fading after that, and Mark and I broke up early last December.  We don't really talk anymore, so I'm not sure how he's doing, but I know he was dating someone else for a while.  In the meantime two of our friends got engaged very recently.  Congratulations Colin and Megan (even though I doubt either of you know I have this LJ).  Also congrats to my now former roommate Cassie on her wedding to Garrett.  I was in it and it was really fun and pretty.  I should be getting pictures back soon I hope.

Speaking of couples, I've been dating Alex now for over 6 months, and we just moved in together, along with his little brother into a really cool artist's loft in St. Paul.  He's an artist, really cute, and we're disgustingly cutesy.  I met Alex while we were working at Games by James, and we just really hit it off well.  We have a ton of common interests, and we just work really really well.  He gets me to go out and be with people more, and I ground him a little when he needs it.  It's just a more mature and enduring relationship than I had with Mark.

Other interesting things that have happened to me in the past year and a half?  I've started going to a few more concerts.  I just saw VNV Nation when they were at Ground Zero, and I get to go see Tool on Tuesday!  I am so excited.  Maynard wins at singing.   He's crazy good, and just *grawr*.

So life has been going really well for me right now.  I'm at a good point, and I have options of where to go from here.  I now will have regular internet access unlike the last year and a half, so look for me on messenger and AIM if you want to talk.

5:03 pm - Ramblings and updates
Hey anyone who happens to still check this... it's been awhile. I took an online hiatus partially willing, and partially due to computer issues. My laptop is still very touchy, but I'm on a bit more. I really don't have anything interesting going on, so there's no point in updating.

I'm still with Mark, still have no idea what I'm taking classes for, and still am living in Dinkytown.
I did total my car a week or so ago (I'm ok, just a sore neck and a cut on my knuckle). My parents have already bought me a new car (I don't get it either), a cute little forest green '01 Protege. I miss my adorable little red '94 Corolla still though. I think I was calling her Beth, but she was generally referred to as "Baby". I need a new name for this car I think.
Forest Green 01 Protege
My car doesn't have a spoiler and has a beige cloth interior (I hate leather seats). If anyone has any name suggestions, they'll be carefully considered if deemed appropriate.

Also, I've been slowly seduced into the joys of RPG's. FFX and X-2 have *way* too much of a pull on my life. (Thanks Dan :p). As does SSX Tricky 2. Also, I have to thank Mark for showing me Bleach and Naruto, and that there is manga for both.

I saw Mirrormask, it was *really* pretty and conceptually cool, but lacked a coherent and compelling story. I won't say more for fear of angry Gaiman fans wielding rabid members of the mustilidae family.

And enough rambling. I really won't be updating that much, if at all. I do get e-mails if people leave comments, so feel free to do so if one is so inclined.

Fare thee well!

Your Scorpio Drinking Style

If anyone tells you you've had enough, you'll smirk and keep tippling until you're hog whimpering drunk, out of 100-proof spite.
You like to drink, and screw anyone who has a problem with that.
You see the sauce as something to savor in itself... and not as a personality-altering tool.

If you're depressed, you get self-loathing and seek total obliteration.
But generally, you're a fascinating drinking pal, brilliant conversationalist and dizzying flirt.
You also remember everything -- especially what everyone did when they were blitzed.
Only people you *like* should drink with you!
Your Signature Cocktails
Just as you can look someone in the eye and smile while secretly plotting their demise, so does the brandy-laced Scorpian Stinger's sweet taste hide a potent amount of alcohol. But you abhor tropical drinks, and you will turn up your nose if you're served a scorpian. You rule watermelon, so break a pitcher of watermelon margaritas will seduce you -- though red wine will do the trick just as well.
Your Celebrity Drinking Buddies
Hillary Clinton, Leonardo DiCaprio, Bill Gates, Demi Moore, Jenny McCarthy, Tara Reid, P. Diddy, and Owen Wilson.

So,I'm back.

I've fought a broken computer shortly after I moved out of the house, then I got that back, but right after that, my basement (I have the basement room too) flooded. Which got my computer wet. So it had todry for about a week. I've also had and recovered from food poisoning, and had my ten month anniversary with the greatest guy on earth. I've also managed to keep my job, and not kill or poison with my cooking any of the girls at my job. I've also broken the same part of my car twice in a month -- where I had repaired it in the in-beween. Grrr. So not my month. Also, one of the girls at work totaly nicked my cell phone for a while.

7:36 am - Mwahaha

This isn't a total surprise, because I think Thomas Harris wrote a brilliant character whom I totally admire for his coolness, exquisite taste, and self-defined morals (or utter lack thereof). Just think if he didn't have that whole Mischa issue. Mmmmm. Deliciously evil. I personally don't blame Clarice.

11:15 pm - New Sketches
So posting all my old stuff got me to feelin' doodle-y. That and I've been on the phone with my mother for god only fucking knows how long, I think we've cleared the 2 hour mark now. Therefore I'm typing veeeeery quietly.

What I drew while on the phone. Stuff is vaguely based off of Poe's Ligeia, thanks to a suggestion via Dan.

Hi, I've posted this stuff elsewhere I believe, but I've now collected a swarm of it together in one, easy-to-view post. So I'm posting it here. Nyah =P

So, being the narcissitic creature that I am, I feel the need to post the swarm of what passes as my creativity on here. One poem and several sketches.

The poem, entitled Devil. Angel. Murderer. Mistress.

1:36 pm - No one ever asks a hobo for tech support
So I got my Dilbert e-newletter thingy today, which always amuses me. And the first paragraph was

"Dogbert’s New Ruling Class has ballooned to 460,000 members. Each one of you has so much animal magnetism that woodland creatures stick to your body when you hike through the forest. In fact, I predict that at least one of you has a mole on your buttocks right now."

Yay for a laugh to start...ok, continue, my day.

More little bits of cynical joy a la "Ask Dogbert"

So, it's the day before my 20th birthday. Squee! I'll no longer be a teen. EEE. I should probably be rambling on thoughts of maturity and how I'M NOT READY FOR IT!!! (Which I'm totally not). But, I don't feel like being philosophical at the moment. So instead I'm posting these quizzes I took from Liz's lj.

12:10 pm - Belated update!
Soooooo. Updates. I really am a sucky lj-er. I just update what I want and... blah.
My Halloween update that no one cares about a week late. Go me.

Therefore, I shall update about my weekend anyways and such. Halloween! Whoo I get to dress up like the freak I am, and carry around my three pretty not so sharp stabbities.

Friday
Friday I was sick all afternoon, blargh. I am fairly sure I've managed to give myself an ulcer. My stomach hurts all the time, like acid hurting, and it goes in waves. I've also coincidentally developed like super-knots in my back that defy massage and disallow sleeping. Poor Mark having to put up with my fidgeting in bed trying to get comfy Sat. night. Then I started to feel better, so I put on my costume and went with my friend Liz to Rodeo nightclub. It's a club that alternates between country and rap music. Weird combination, but amusing to watch costumed people screechingly change gears from line dancing to grinding.

Saturday
This was my real day of excitement.. I slept in lateishly, and spent the afternoon studying and trying to do laundry. I failed to get an open machine. Then it was time to meet Mark’s parents for the first time. EEEE. If any of you were so unlucky as to have to talk to me shortly before this, I apologize. I was a nervous wreck. As to the drama the week before from this, well, that’s all passed and a figment of my imagination as I knew it was, but was too paranoid to get it to go away. It went well, his parents are so very cool, and his mom said I was sweet, cute, and she sees why Mark likes me. Score! Step one: family infiltration complete. =)

Saturday night right after we got back from a very nice dinner with Mark, his parents, his sister, and her boyfriend, I ran down, threw my clothes into a washer, came back upstairs and helped Mark into his kilt. Which he had forgotten the belt to, a very important holding up part, in his apartment. Well, since it had taken 20 minutes to get him into just that part of the kilt, I went back to the apt for him, found the belt, brought it back, and finished putting the durn kilt on him for another 40 minutes. Part of which was trying to decipher his roomie’s instructions of how to put it on, and another oh trying to figure out how to tie the stupid belt in a weird hitch knot thingy. I must say that despite being supremely frustrated and a giant ball of stress when I was done with it, he looked darn good. Shame it was his roommate’s kilt and he couldn’t go true *shines halo*. I have pictures, I just have to develop the film. Which means I have to find a place to do so.

So after the whole kilt/laundry ordeal, my ulcer I think I’ve given myself is acting up and I feel pretty crappy. So we go to my friend’s apartment for a fun filled night of pumpkin carving and then maybe drinking, depending on how things go. Nope, I last about 20 -40 minutes of jut sitting around watching SNL before my stomach hurt too bad, so we went back to Mark’s apt where I was to get looked after and spoiled and such to feel better. Well, his roommate had rented “The Brotherhood” to watch. BAD MOVIE!!!!! It got so bad we turned it off and made up the dialogue for it. Then we watched an episode or two of the anime Hellsing, which is about vampires. Proper for Halloween, and a good series anyways.

Sunday
So I go to bed it’s very early Sunday, yay for leaving pj’s at Mark’s so I could change out of my costume. I crashed for a few hours (like 5 am to 4 pm), then went back to my place, in costume since I had nothing else to wear, changed, did a touch of studying, and went back over to Mark’s to play D&D (I know, I know, I’m a nerd. I don’t care, it’s fun) with his two roommates, their girlfriends, and another friend. So I finally get home around 3am Monday morning, study, go to class, and yay.

The rest of the week consisted of trying to sleep, failing at that for the most part, going to class. The usual boring week stuff.

Now, this Saturday I may get to go to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts with friends. They all have papers to write, and I’m going to see all the stuff I didn’t get to stare at when I was on my first date with Mark there. Whee.

Pictures from Halloween when I get them developed. Speaking of which, does anyone know a relatively cheap but decent place to get my Advantix film developed around campus? Also, I need it soon, because I guess Mark gets credit in one of his classes if he has proof he dressed up.

And now for “Fun with quizzes”
